Recent and ongoing work with a number of major Healthcare corporations continues to reinforce our belief that:

1. Futures are shaped by the convergence of multiple forces and events, not singular dynamics extrapolated into 3 or 4 possibilities.
2. The healthcare industry is on the threshold of profound change; Future Scenario Learning and Parallel Planning are mandatory.
3. There are many forces at work creating the ever-changing healthcare eco-system – an understanding and appreciation of the role of each of these forces alone, and their influence/impact on one another is vital to survival.
4. The current business models of most stakeholders are no longer sustainable – cost-cutting, cutbacks, and "doing more with less" will only temporarily relieve revenue declines.
5. Healthcare customers are changing and healthcare stakeholders* must adapt to the needs and beliefs of their new customers.
6. The conventional supplier business model will undergo accelerating metamorphosis, not to a single universally accepted grand new solution, but to a spectrum of go-to-market models reflecting the dynamic healthcare environment.
